A week in Kintyre, a new song and a great gig

Spent the week before last up in Kintyre on the West Coast of Scotland. I wanted to try to get back into writing some songs after a year spent focusing on recording, gigging and promotion… Stayed in a little cottage right on the shore. There were otters just outside my window and this seal watched me walk past as he lay on a rock! Managed to avoid frost bite by honing my fire-making skills in the wood burning stove. Came away with a new song called “Winter Hill” which is about an early morning walk in Lancashire. I seem to keep writing about places and the countryside… Then on Wednesday I travelled with Dave & Boo down to the Willows Folk Club in Arundel in Sussex. I’m glad to say the waters had receded sufficiently for fifty very enthusiastic people to turn out to listen. Thanks Willows!
