Walk These Blues Away

I know you don’t want to talk about what’s wrong tonight

I know it’s nothing new, it’s nothing that can’t be put right

Tomorrow morning come with me to where the chalk hills meet the sea

Let’s take a chance on the weather, stay away all day

And just put one foot in front of the other

And walk these blues away

You and I are flint and chalk, we’re different kinds

You have your own path to walk, and I have mine

Tomorrow morning let’s go south and drive until the land runs out

And walk along together – I know we’ll find the way

We’ll just put one foot in front of the other

And walk these blues away

The path runs high above the shore

You know we’ve walked this way before

It’s a slow and steady climb

                One step at a time

I know you don’t want to talk about what’s wrong tonight

I’ve known you long enough by now: you don’t have to spell it out

Tomorrow morning, rain or shine, let’s just leave all this behind

And it doesn't matter whether

The sky is clear or grey

We’ll just put one foot in front of the other

And walk these blues away
