Pink & Silver Sneakers

One day I’m going to buy myself a pair of pink and silver sneakers

Something groovier and chicer than you’ve ever seen me wear

I’ll put them on and everyone who knows me will be speechless

Amazed by my uniqueness, my elegance and flair

I know you won’t believe it when you see me in those shoes

Just wait until I walk in through the door

I’ll be quite a sight to see, I’ll be more like I’d like to be

You’ll see that there’s a side to me you’ve never seen before

One day I’m going to buy myself a pair of pink and silver trainers

I know it sounds a bit outrageous but they’re exactly what I need

This sight you see before you is quite likely just to bore you

But there are going to be some changes: there’s going to be a whole new me

I know you don’t believe me I can see it in your eyes

You’ve heard it all a thousand times before

But seeing is believing and believe me when you see me

You’ll believe it, it will leave you without any doubt at all

One day I’m going to buy myself a pair of pink and silver sneakers

Til I get them on my feet I’ll never really be myself

I feel they are essential in fulfilling my potential

And they’re in a shoe shop somewhere waiting for me on the shelf

I’ll know them when I see them: but they’re very hard to find

They’re not just any ordinary shoes

I’ve looked for them in market stalls, in boutiques and department stores

In every single shoe shop window –bound to find them soon

                        Gotta find those shoes

Give me time, I’m gonna find those shoes

Bottom line, I’m gonna find those shoes

Lose my mind if I don’t find those shoes….

One day I’m going to buy myself a pair of pink & silver sneakers

I feel a sense of incompleteness without that pair of shoes

Maybe it’s a weakness – pining for them leaves me sleepless

And my search for them is ceaseless but what else can I do?

I’ll know them when I see them, there’s a picture in my mind

I’ve got to have those shoes before I die

I feel it in the ether that I’m soon to find those sneakers

And then finders will be keepers: soon those sneakers will be mine

One day I’m going to buy myself a pair of pink and silver shoes

They’re going to take away my troubles and banish all my blues

Those shoes will make me taller, I’ll give out a kind of aura

I’ll be walking on water - I’ll be among the chosen few

Anyone who’s anyone will wish they had some too

And I will be the envy of them all

All the rich and all the famous– all the movers and the shakers

They’ll all want to see my trainers  they’ll be will be knocking on my door

Saying “where’dya find those shoes?

If you don't mind, where did you find those shoes?

Be so kind, where did you find those shoes?

Lose my mind if I don't have those shoes
