Cromer Pier |
|
My
coat is buttoned against the weather as the North Sea breakers roar The
wind blows as it’s blown forever against this Norfolk shore And
with all the miles still left to cover I suppose that I should go But
there’s sunlight on the water and before I turn for home I’ll take a walk on Cromer Pier and watch the seafront lights appear As
the night begins to fall Though
to watch the sun go down behind the rooftops of this seaside town Is
bound to make me wish that you were here On
Cromer Pier From
the window of a New Street café I can see the waves roll in Oystercatchers
and seagulls flying, wheeling in the wind And
the theatre and the lifeboat station and the people walking by And
the sunlight on the water and the colour of the sky So
I’ll take a walk on Cromer Pier ... There’s
nothing but the raw power of the waves And
the changes in the light at the dying of the day I
know I should be leaving but something keeps me here Looking
out across the water on Cromer Pier My
coat is buttoned against the weather as the North Sea breakers roar The
wind blows as it’s blown forever against this Norfolk shore There’s
a boat out in the distance where the water meets the sky And
nothing else for miles except the weather and the tide So
I’ll take a walk on Cromer Pier...
