Giving Me The Blues |
|
You
ask me why I hang my head, why my eyes don’t shine Is
it something that you’ve done or said preying on my mind? If
you were thinking it was you making me feel blue Please
believe me, nothing could be further from the truth It’s
just that all this talk of war is getting harder to ignore And
everywhere you look it’s all you seem to see And
every day you watch and wait and hope that something might have changed But
what’s the use? It’s
just more bad news And
it’s giving me the blues. You’d
have to be deaf dumb and blind with your head stuck in the sand Not
to know about man’s inhumanity to man And
though I’ve tried to shut it out from my obscenely easy life Nowadays
it seems it’s all we ever talk about And
it’s just the cruelty of it all, I know it’s all been said before It’s
just the way things are and the way they’ve always been It
comes as no surprise to me, it’s just the nature of the beast It’s
nothing new, it’s no big news But
it’s giving me the blues So
turn off the radio, stay with me for a while Tell
me how your day has been, come and make me smile And
the world outside can wait, I’ve had enough of it today And
so have you, let’s call a truce Cos
it’s giving me the blues.
